When writing for 29er Brews last year, I took a series of beer-focused vacations, or “beercations”, as they’ve become known, to visit the source of some of the best beers in the States and seek out local beers that may not be distributed outside of their home state, or even city.
In May 2014, I visited Montpelier and Burlington, Vermont. The Three Penny Taproom, Montpelier’s well-known craft beer watering hole, had plenty of local options on draft, from Vermont’s own Hill Farmstead and Lost Nation, to neighboring New Hampshire’s Smuttynose.
With great beer on draft, a smattering of beer geek magazines and a buzz of conversation on a Friday night, I found this sign to be all too true.
Allow beer to be your guide on your next vacation, and friends and happiness are sure to follow. (I can give or take on the burger.)
